Why we don’t use regular polish at our salon
We purposely choose not to carry regular polish at our salon because most of the damage we see while healing clients’ nails are from regular polish.
Regular polish doesn’t give our natural nails much protection. It’s like wearing undergarments while working in the field. Our nails are made of thousands of keratin layers and when they’re exposed to heat and water, these layers open up and separate. Regular polish not only doesn’t help prevent that process from happening, its toxins actually soak into these keratin layers and destroy them farther. That’s when we see yellowness and white spots on our nails.
Hence, we refuse to carry regular polish at our salon. We only use gel to protect your nails because gel is like a plastic cover - once cured properly, it doesn’t soak into the nails to destroy them.
You might hear people say, “My nails got so thin because of gel!” This happens only if the removal process is done carelessly. That’s why we forbid e-file and really take the time to remove them gently and properly.
A picture is worth a thousand words so we will show you pictures of a client who consistently gets her nails done every 5 weeks. Her nails are as healthy as ever.
